Heart Of The Desert Poem by Jerine James

Heart Of The Desert

In the heart of the desert
With legends etched everywhere and
land of vast sand
In the 80's, a turbulent time
When the state of Kuwait began to climb
Thanks to its abundance of oil

Oil-rich grounds to busy souks
Customs and culture flourish
Observing Kuwait's aspiration to soar
Education and creativity took the progress call
That helped Kuwait stand tall
Traditional routine reformed
New thinking emerged

With bravery, she tackles the challenges
Land of pearls and sea
May her journey be full of unending joy
Serenity and peace.
