Heart In Shreds Poem by Carlos Cardona

In your hand It laid
And in trust I gave it to you
And you played with it and I ignored without a thought (2)
In the morning It laid in shreds in trash can
And I tapped it up and gave it to you and kept it away from me
I thought that you liked me but you just commented me
And I didn't know and I went by
There were a lot of times you lied to me and let it by
Because I thought it would bring us close
Put step forward is three falls back and I kept going
And you cut my heart and I took the pain
Why did I not stop her?
Why did I let her?
Why did she do that?
Why did she make me cry?
Why she lies?
Why did she play and destroy? (2)

They would sit in a group and pass it around
Take a peace and put it in there mouth
And spit it out
And then it happened it stared to shrink and turn black
And she still had it in her hand.
