He's Not Who He Used To Be Poem by Ray Hansell

He's Not Who He Used To Be

Rating: 5.0

He used to say, I love you
Every single day
Now you're telling people
He doesn't even smile your way

He used to always hold your hand
Whenever you were out
Now he doesn't touch you
You wonder what that's all about

When you used to lay in bed
With your head on his chest
He would always tell you
That you truly were the best

Now he doesn't hold you
Like he did before
Exactly what's going on
You're not really sure

The big house that you live in
No longer feels like home
The way you feel inside
You know you're all alone

You know that this is over
Love has long since left
You need to be alone
To give your heart a rest

The sooner that you realize this
The better off you'll be
Your life will be much better
Not being with the likes of me

Exceptionally well-written. Lost love is so long-lasting and painful.
