I do regard my translations as an honour to my language, a written language of three thousand years with a vast tradition of poetical creativeness. To express yourself poetically in this language is not so easy.Trivial forms of expressions have no place in its realm. You have to use sometimes forms used hundreds of years already.Although all european languages are based on the greek grammar and syntax their vocabulary, except that derived from greek, looks very conventional and trivial with no depth back into history. It woyld sound funny to use in greek the ordinary corresponding to it words.Any ay to translate into greek it is a challenge. and that is what fascinates me.Otherose good poems have their own point of feeling to offer to it.So from that point of view it is me who feel obliged to thank you.Best regards.
