Haunted By The One Who Got Away Poem by Enchanting Owl

Haunted By The One Who Got Away

Rating: 5.0

Your gravity is magnetic, but I keep refusing.
I find myself defeated, but it is addicting.
I know you've gravitated toward someone else already.
That's why I try to be stoic and steady.
Your presence is intoxicating; I become heady.

Every time I run away from you, my heart keeps falling.
Our fate is crying, and my emotions are crawling.
I hate this new sensation; am I in the right state of mind?
My love's pure; sending kisses through the wind.
Praying to all the blest gods that our stars will be intertwined.

There is no potent remedy for this hopelessness.
I'm the fleshly definition of homelessness.
Loving you is my grave; hating you is a serious crime.
Decided to pass this phase and get rime.
Let me kill this feeling; it will take a mountain of time.

I am walking this journey deserted and dejected.
One step is a million pains; is to be expected?
This heart is being poked by a pin; there are hundreds of specks.
I want to hang your name around my neck.
The radar is not functioning; my life is now a wreck.

Fifteen years passed. Thinking of you, looking at your picture,
If given a chance, we can be a perfect mixture.
We could direct our movie and plan our wedding side by side.
Could have touched your hand, but I was denied.
If I had courage before, we could be Bonnie and Clyde.
