Man is an exile in a world
 of objects, each one capable
 of deluding and enslaving him.
Man is held captive
in the complex and painful
network of loves and hatreds,
desires and fears, lies and excuses.
 In such a condition man's

 an inexorable concern
 with all that is exterior,
 transient, illusory and trivial.
Thus man is exiled from
God and from his inmost self.
