I like the line The absence of harmonic intrusion... Reading it makes you feel like something very important has been taken away, making the scene less complete. A nice vocabulary goes into this. Pulls off the harmony of the words without rhyme which is rare. Makes me wistfully start to think about the stream of consciousness that pops into my head when I read these lines...

A beautiful poem which points out the beautiful music of the harp. There is no better music than that played on a harp by someone who really knows how to play. Well done indeed, John, and congratulations on Poem of the Day!

So true... I have always felt this way. There is something magical, most clean and pure about the harpist and her instrument...

I agree with your description of the harps purity and how it evokes natures rustling and gurgling.I have just purchased a CD Celtic dreams where harp, flute and cello mingle like magic and harp is my favorite instrument as, it can put one in a heavenly trance. A beautiful poem John... 10 love Karin

The thrust of the poem resonates like the harp - - there is no other instrument which sounds as much like 'almost heaven' as this to my ears John - - a fine trubute to both harp and harpists. Best wishes from Fay - - - 10

This is beautiful, the harp also seems to be the one instrument that goes hand in hand with poetry, to enhance the word, or even play the word...heavenly music..gorgeous write John, thank you..10

Lyricism at its finest. You are in tune with the music of the spheres in this one. Golden notes that carry the reader away on wings of sound. Unforgettable, John. As always, Sandra

This superbly crafted poem captures the song of the harp in the lyrical echo of the words. The rhyme resonates throughout, and the repetition of the first and last line rise like a chorus in this melodious tribute to a truly heavenly instrument. This poem is a real pleasure to read. S :)
