Hardship Scrawls A Country Face Poem by james watkin

Hardship Scrawls A Country Face

Hardship scrawls a country face
With a drought's pencil.
What's here to learn, locusts will
Expound, in thrip's place.

Sky clock's symbols do them proud
Who outface their bane.
Sluggish, for a turned wind-vane.
Slow, for a tanked cloud.
