Hallelujah For Leonard Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Hallelujah For Leonard

Rating: 5.0

I went up a mountain asked my love above
What must do to gain yr love?
But you don't really like poetry, do ya?
I gave you my gift of words
I tried to use it for good
Hallelujah

You know I want to be known
That's why I frown
Because I am old and gray
Please tell me the way
The answer, you said, will cut me
Like a knife
You already have the might
Hallelujah

I went down the mountain
And found someone in my bed
They tied me to a chair and shaved my head
I slept in their arms

Hallelujah- A lovely tribute to Leonardo Cohen. Like MJ writes, i repeat -the master must be humming your poem.

Brilliant, LeeAnn. I've been reading more than a few poems that seem to be chanelling Cohen....I can feel the master humming your verse.
