Half Of Me Poem by Paul Perkins

Half Of Me

Half of me - 1999

Half of me left me-
in his heart,
with considerable thought,
he did what he felt
he must do;

Though I see it,
I do not want to believe it;

It feels that life itself
is torn out of me;
yet, I have joy for him.

I asked myself
how much I loved him;
my silence
was my reply.
