This captures the sweet suffering of love lost and a broken heart. I love how you have used the analogy of unfinished, interrupted paintings with unfinished, interrupted love!

Truly heart-rending poem, Amitava. I feel the bewilderment in the voice of your poem, wanting to know where your wife had gone, and why she left the painting, half done. The two of you painting your wishes and dreams, and suddenly she's no longer there. Feel the pain of sorrow beneath this poem. Excellent poem, Amitava. Thank you for sharing it. RoseAnn

Well I have to agree with the others. So very beautiful and yet so heartbreaking! I hope you have been able or will soon be able to paint yourself a happily ended picture. So nicely written! : -)

A beautiful poem has come out of your grief...! I see before me the unfinished painting...! If you will, you can still complete it with a beautiful finish! For this, you deserve full marks!
