Half A World Away Poem by Mary Champion

Half A World Away

There's half a world between us, but you're still in my heart.
It sometimes seems, despite the miles, we're really not apart.
But sometimes it seems light -years, Babe, and then I cannot see
How I will ever kiss your lips or hold you close to me.

So far and yet so near.
So faint and yet so clear.
So sure and yet I can't believe
Those crazy dreams we sometimes weave.

There's time and space between us
We surely cannot span.
But anyone who's seen us
Knows you're the only man.
And sometime's it seems certain, Babe,
And sometime's there's no chance.
And now and then I'd like to ditch
This here and there romance.

There's half a world between us, but you're still in my heart.
It sometimes seems, despite the miles, we're really not apart.
But sometimes it seems light -years, Babe, and then I cannot see
How I will ever kiss your lips or hold you close to me.
