Guy Of My Dreams Poem by Briana Johnston

Guy Of My Dreams

You made me feel this way.
Was it my fault?
Can you even blame me?
Because your smile intoxicates me like a drug.
Your eyes are deep and blue like oceans, yet they twinkle like stars.
Your hands in mine send a shock through my arms and a fire burning in my heart.
It's the way you touch.
Holding me close, ready to protect me from any harm.
Your lips brush gently against mine, as if you were painting a picture.
It's your way with words.
You always seem to know what to say.
Even when you look nervous and shy.
And I see your palms rubbing against each other, covered in sweat.

Then I wonder....
How are you so shy around me?

I'm clumsy, smudging your Mona Lisa you painted on my lips.
I'm plain, no where close to your porcelein skin and jet black locks.
I'm normal, and you're extraordinary.
I'm reality, you're the guy of my dreams.
