I read Eugene's poem The Pelican and your response “But while Ulysses dallies in war I dally in love, with mortals from Earth and gods from above......... This is a distortion of the legend... While her husband Ulysses was away, Penelope wasted her youth in hopeful expectation of the return of her husband. Like a faithful wife, she withstood all temptations of marriage from mortals and gods alike. Interesting write!
