I've heard the mindless mantras

A sad sign of the times poem Dominic. The problem is endemic and the reality of a total ban forever slippery and elusive. For the gun lobby will never let it happen. It's times like this I'm glad I live in the UK, but gun related crime is on the rise. And the armed response units on patrol at the airports are literally armed to their proverbial teeth. And I have to say justifiably so. A thought provoking poem my friend and five stars. And take care and avoid Moss Side Manchester.
Good for there to be a poem about guns and various excuses. I think the paranoias and fears that cultivate gun culture belong in poetry.
Thanks Julia...much appreciated. I'm interested in a broad range of contemporary issues.
Interesting didactic poem that is pithy in relevance and impact. I was just wondering why in my country there is gun control but people still kill each other everyday and so often, with anything they can get their hands on -and sometimes they just use bare hands. With ot without guns, people can still kill.
Thanks Cynthia...yes there is strict gun control in the U.K also...however, there is currently an epidemic of knife crime particularly in London...my focus on guns is aimed at the N.R.A in America which seems to have a strong hold on politicians over there...provides substantial money for their campaigns.
'The guns provide us with protection! Seem rather hackneyed & outdated... //.... It projects the paradox of a developed society of the West. Thanks, Dominic.
5 Stars full for this GUN CONTROL. So truest worded, I like very much your honest vision as a poet. A true enjoyable read, Dominic!
