Hahahahaha that so true and that stones in a shoe, they are dizzy here and there and we get annoyed...what a meaningful work that blend seriousness with funny tone in a poem.loved it MJL
This has indeed brought a smile on my face! I believe you have that problem less in the West. There guests rarely come unannounced, I understand! Here in our place at any time, even in an unearthly hour guests can bump into the house without prior notice. Sometimes a planned program has to be cancelled on account of their arrival. Some will come and bore us to death. But hospitality compels one not to show any irritation! A very Interesting write and quite true too! !

I do think there are aspects of the situation that are universal. Here, the utterance of 'thanks for coming' often serves as the eviction notice. I suspect in other cultures that may have precisely the opposite effect.
Half the people in my family will probably use this as a welcome mat for the other half, or just guess in general. Again this stellar, the mood and humor are down the street I like to cruise. Though the lovely thing about stones is they no how to stay silent.

Well, now, what have I had the good fortune to stumble onto this morning? A poet, oh yes indeed. A lover of words, I believe so judging by the words she chose to use. A writer who isn't afraid of brevity, certainly! A writer with wisdom and humor, oh, I chuckled and chuckled intellectually as well. I am putting you on my list of poets to read but first I am going to go read your Horses cuz I have a soft spot for all things Horses.

i'm more tolerant of unwanted stones than of unwanted guests, but i can throw the stones farther, so they are less likely to come back. true wisdom doth this poem spout! this shall soon be ensconced (?) in my/our A Showcase For P H Poets [May 2016 edition, which is found in my list of poems...Bri Edwards. :) and to MyPoemList it goes as well

this one is also a different poem. and I am feeling it is not humorous. it is something painful, I don't know why! or it may be due to shoes and stones and guests and unwanted. in these all, stones are natural. unwanted may also be the such feelings of host for the guest. I think these words used to create certain feelings. our social life, including most of the business is so much noisy and colourful due to unwanted guests. these all suggestions of products and policies, ideals and idols, concepts and issues everywhere every time, though then we need nothing such to hear or see, but guests are penetrating our minds, how to evict! ! nice poem
