Thank you for sharing your soul. I get the conflict. At the end of the day we are who we are. You know which is more important :) I say go with that :)

The devil is truly not the answer or an excuse...self-discipline and self-control, these two things are the answer to avoid such...........fabulous poem shared here!

Fascinating, comprehensive contemplation on the old familiar excuse 'th'devil made me do it! '....passing the blame; now shouldering the responsibility with a delightfully wise resolve.....how very well you expressed it! I love how well you did it, hitting all points and happily concluding in the last line with the solution....sweet! Excellent!

A poem of exceptional clarity and insight within a theme of accountability. One of your highest points of artistic expression and one of the best poems written on this site. A wonderful read David. Read with appreciation Terence :)

Fascinating, rather intriguing consideration on the old familiar excuse 'th'devil made me do it! ' chucking the blame as if it will help in the end. If I understand your concluding lines, you happily have cast off that blame-passing, intending to take responsibility for your actions...sweet, excellent! Because as it seems you point out, there is a chance for redemption and a better course if you acknowledge and take responsibility. Great! I liked it.
