Growing Up. Poem by Preston Mwiinga

Growing Up.

When I was a baby I struggled hard to crawl, then I leant to walk.
When I was a toddler I wanted to grow into a teenager.
I have met friends, made friends played with friends and life seemed so normal.
And I wanted to grow.
Now that I have grown, life has introduced me to a lot of challenges and changes.
My growth takes me nearer to my aging.

Some changes,
My friend are getting married and relocating to far away place.
Other are getting employed, deployed to distant place.
Time is no longer the same.
We no longer have it like we used to,
We are all into our own worlds.
The most painful thing about growth is the separation from my loved ones.
Doctrine of growing up.
