Growing up,
they said it wasn't easy.
Life itself is a gift,
that we take in our hands.
We make what we want
and destroy what we detest.
But will we acquire the knowledge
to know what is right and what is wrong?
With this world, just a contest to compete,
will we win, or will we deplete?
Will we guide ourselves past manipulation
and stand up for all man's salvation?
Let’s help feed the hungry
and think less of hate.
Let’s speak with knowledge
now the rumor that was spewed
from the pews at church.
And let’s spread love
that is timeless and true.
But looking outside
seeing nothing but guns
firing in the air.
Desperation fills my eyes…
They said it wasn't easy…
Growing up.
