A worldly wisdom is always easier to be accepted and assimilated in verses and through a private experience of the author. I like the effect of repeating the main refrain 'Wounds that heal add thickness to the skin. It’s not the same for wounds that lie within.' It's so true and so good penned - a classic piece in verse.
