The theme of this poem is so well compressed in the well-chosen words that any comment will just elucidate the obvious. But I do admire your craft. It takes careful phrasing and a keen discipline to hone a poem so completely that every word counts and no word is superfluous. I tip my ubiquitous fedora to your artistry!

Thank you Adeline for the lovely comments you wrote. Totally appreciate them. We do write about the difficult times in life, don't we? Maybe because they are the most precious to us and their loss affects us so deeply. Beautiful poem Adeline, thank you for sharing with me. RoseAnn
We have loved and now we grieve when we have lost. Our grief is a means of expressing our loss. By this emotional act we allow ourselves to heal and recover. Grief is the door to healing. Very thoughtful write.
Brief but truly meaningful and touching. The cut at the end lines was very effective, leaving the reader to ponder upon the thought. Brilliant!
That was very well put. How can grieve without having first loved? Thanks, Mark Walters
very true and beautifully described by you....a brilliant piece indeed thank you for sharing mam love payal
I like the thought behind it I feel that grief can only be caused by love we have lost and can never be replaced because no one can hold the same place in our feeling and in our heart.
