This poem speaks directly to me. The interplay of grief and joy marks the contour of human life. It's not that we invite grief the way we invite joy - obviously we will always actively seek joy. The point we don't deny grief, or try to hide from it. We let our innerbeing transform it just as it transforms joy and both transdformations make us grow spiritually.
