Grief Poem by Chitra Bisht

Grief

Rating: 5.0

Real pain
Is not professed by tears
Or by writhing in agony
No temper tantrums
No creating a scene

It gnaws at your bones
Giving gaping wounds
Drains all blood from heart
A thousand blades piercing

On the surface
Everything is fine
Peace prevails
Expressions sublime

Inside torment reverberates
Hurt, betrayal, anger gyrate
Echoes of hopelessness seeping
A deafening silence screaming
