Grey Langur And I

Rating: 5.0

LANGUR.AND.I

a grey langur
out of the blue

on the, long.terrace, his bolt
is faster than, Usnain Bolt's

throws, himself onto a mango tree
to show that he is absolutely free
like a diver, who is absolutely cool,
jumps into a swimming pool

along the branch to window grill
our faces, feet apart, it is a thrill

biting into a raw mango
he sizes me up-close

I, in my.forest.bedroom, am caged
beyond his reach, a.duel.cannot be staged

he, light, with extreme agility
I, bulky, slow but wily

does he think, I am the greater danger?
discretion is the better of.valour;
he withdraws from a potential conflict,
retreating deep into the shrinking forest.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Magnificient grey langur ran along the 100 ft long building in the forest campus, and dived onto a mango tree. I was watching from my grilled window and the langur came close to me, sized me up and retreated!

A thrilling experience. At moments like this, we should not panic but should only be careful. An interesting write- - 10
