Greeting To The Ghost Poem by Ellen Rose Guilaran

Greeting To The Ghost

How have you been?
Does her touch make you think of someone new
Does it make you miss my imaginary making you blue
I'm here stranded and frozen
Wasting my dreams and potential with someone new
Trying to build dreams I never got to do with you

Only to find out he's just a boy
With battle scars from torned childhood
He's not a man yet, he hasn't been there
He's trying but can't when
Demons has yet to be defeated and embraced

Here, I nurture and grow this plant
With water and patience
Show him that love
Unconditionally
Hard, strong yet gentle
Like a river, softening his bed rock
Softly yet persistently

The deep embers of his cold heart
Reveal a fragile mind and ego
I could not resist to protect
Oh, how alluring
This poison of this deception
He puts me in

I slumber in disillusion
While he stumbles behind the scenes
Of stringing me along
Awake in delusion
But connected with reality

Will somebody save me from myself?
Will someone surpass more than you could?
Your two-faced deception
Makes me want the emotions
Without the lying
And cheating

A fatal wound I could heal myself
As I close the curtains of the past
If one day we cross paths again
That is destiny
In your own volition, that's a choice
