Greater Expectations Thanks To Jesus! Poem by Denis Martindale

Pour out the oil as for kings, anointing with God's love,
Since God creates all living things and grants His saints enough.
He listens to my great concerns as one who understands
This mortal frame that daily learns that God has greater plans.
I am this body and this mind, yet I am spirit, too,
Refreshed by God's love for Mankind to do what I must do.

God's expectations go beyond all that I've known before,
And form in me a stronger bond, so that I, too, seek more.
When Jesus stood before His Cross, He didn't run away!
He was prepared to suffer loss, trust God and still obey!
I've never known such love as this, you see, Christ died for me,
To share God's great eternal bliss, Christ died on Calvary!

Oh, Lord, anoint me and my friends, that we may serve You still,
Because on this all love depends and always, always will.
