Great Wagner. Singer Of The Partings – Comments

You cite characters in specific scenes from four of Wagner's operas, and I too know all of these references. They live daily in my mind, like the first stanza with Siegfried 's wonderful dying vision of Brunnhilde, to be followed by the radiant Funeral March. Or Lohengrin's sad return to the Graal castle after Elsa fails the test of love. I feel her loss poignantly, don't you? She was so close to happiness.
