Old words are classic to my memory.
Because of you, my feet have wings this day.

The title is very much suitable and the rest..superb...a very good hearty tribute to your poet friend..regards-Indira Renganathan
Music is spirit preserved for eternity. The color of slavic music, their words are in their music.
I don't know if the poem completely fleshes out the first two lines of the first stanza. I love those two lines: 'You wrote your Yiddish signature in rain./ I could not match it in a thousand years.'
Enduring images in this beautiful tribute to a close friend...'Gray Music' that resonates well after the reader has left the page...lovely Sandra.

Lovely poem! Life never ends and death is merely a transition. But some people leave behind indelible memories, making them immortal...
Beautifully spoken words of mourning for a friend whose memory will always bring joy to your life. I'm so sorry for your loss but I am happy you celebrate the joy of the memories he/she left with you and that will always remain with you.
A beautiful tribute to a friend. The flesh may be mortal but words such as these will live beyond the grave. Leonard
Amazing and beautiful....... full of soft poetic values... nice work Fowler 10.. Ali
a beautiful poem for who born in april..and one of them....
This is a beautiful tribute to your great friend. Such friendships never fade into silver, but are eternally gold. It is our bodies which fade, but memories ever gain resonance as we go forward. 'The past, ' said Faulkner, 'is not over; it's not even past.' So it is with your loving relationship with your dear friend, Mr. Katz, and so may it be with all dear friendships. - Will
Old words are classic to my memory. Because of you, my feet have wings this day..............A beautiful tribute to the wondeful friend..............A Good Write..........
No doubt that your gray music paints picture but this poem is a sad word painting with a true Slavic touch, Sandra. I guess your friend was a Russian, a Bulgarian or a Polish. Yiddish is a jewish language based on German having the influence of Hebrew, Aramaic and some other Slavonic languages. ' You wrote your Yiddish signature in rain ' is such a beautiful opening line that it provides a strong thematic substructure to the poem. One feels a great deal of respect for you and for your deceased friend. Thanks for sharing this fine piece of poetry of your own style and diction. Best Regards Naseer
Sandra, it's a delightful poem... loved it.5 stars
