Gratitude For My Dearest Professor Poem by Soumili Karmakar

Gratitude For My Dearest Professor

Rating: 5.0

We met at a time when the world was witnessing the flickers of the candlelight
We met at a time when autumn was unwrapping by the tunes of your delight.
You rose and sung everyday as Ganga's welcoming grace
We knew we met by God's manifestation in you that we prayed to be fate.

The woods whisper and lead us to wake up in morning rain,
Over the meadows I see the sun rising
Reminding of how we ache today.
All spring long the silver crescent moon
Guided us to be human, to believe in hope and held its faith
Once and for all we will remember the days spent at your blessed home everyday.

You read "O Captain! My Captain", and "Ode to a Nightingale"
You introduced Odysseys' journey home,
As the Trojan War was fought for ten years for fame.
You shared your experiences of childhood and your home,
And we felt overjoyed to hear the sparrows acting as your soul's confidante
To make you rise with gratitude forever at dawn
We will remember the smile on your face.

Kindness to me has been the assistance of your lessons,
Love, we found floating on your symphonies long heard in the heart of Ganga's hymnal.
We went for so long and we walked beside her lanes
Now, when I'll miss you, I'll know you've been and are for us
As infinite skies in a thousand harmonious rays.
