Gratitude Poem by Reyna Lyn Angulo Sahagun

Gratitude

Of all the things they've said,
Of all the times we've shared,
Of all the love they've given,
My life is fulfilled.

Once, I thought they were my enemies,
The obstacle in my life,
The feces in my eyes,
And the bomb in my ears.

But when I look back at the past,
And think of what they've sacrificed,
My life is full of gratitude,
And I appreciated these much.

Thank God, for giving them to me
For sending the most wonderful gift I ever had
For letting me open my heart and mind
And to see how lucky I am.

Now that I am mature enough
and have my own life and family
Ready to face the hardships in life
They are still here to guide and protect.

For all the words I have uttered,
For all the crazy things I have done,
For all the tears I let fall into their eyes.
They are still here and always give me strength.

They gave me HOPE- to make all things bright
LOVE- to make all things easy
And FAITH- to make all things possible
I love my Mom and Dad- and these are my Gratitude.
