Granivorous Ground Feeder (A Riddle To Solve) Poem by Rob Lamberton

Granivorous Ground Feeder (A Riddle To Solve)

Rating: 5.0

Don't look into my dark eyes or talk trash O' about me
I'll fly away to the trees while you hold seed in your own hand
Don't care if you stare at my pink beak and white tail as I go

This bird is most likely a dark - eyed junco based on the description stated in the poem: dark eyes, pink beak and white tail with a habit of foraging on the ground before flitting up into the nearby trees or bushes. An engaging poem well presented.
