Goverment Property Poem by Preston Mwiinga

Goverment Property

Government property, a fate so grim,
On a young girl, my lust did cling.
Deceived by her baby face and form,
I never thought I'd face the storm.

Now I stand in court, my heart in strife,
For my actions, I must pay the price.. Two decades behind bars I'll face,
No escape, no hope, no trace.

My studies, my efforts, all in vain,
My life now worse than ever before,
For I couldn't control my emotions,
And now my fate is sealed forevermore.

If only I had known, I'd have refrained,
From taking advantage of her plight,
Even after seeing her in clothes and home,
I shouldn't have let her convince me so.

For she would have told me she was just twelve,
But now I'm trapped in this dirt cell,
My destiny forever changed,
A victim of my own desire unchained.
