Gorkha denotes Nepalese warriors. It has its own regiments of India, Nepal and UK. They fought during both world wars. Nepali is their language and it has official status in India in 1992. West Bengal recognized Nepali as an official language in 1961. Gorkhas are uniting to establish their identity.
