Gordon Lightfoot: A Poet's Tribute Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Gordon Lightfoot: A Poet's Tribute

Rating: 5.0

If only I could truly read your mind:

[My hands hold her body as my fingers pluck her strings
Tenderly touching her heart as she has touched mine
She echoing music of passion from my life
Canada's history imprinted on my mind]

Brilliant tribute, Richard. Whenever I think of Gordon, I find myself thinking about railroads. That's such a big part of our history. I'll be listening to Gordon tell me about some of that history tonight. This verse goes to myfavourites.

2) Saw him in concert about 6X, including last year at the CNE. What a great storyteller! What a legend! So very happy that you've added this one to your favourites, my friend! Happy Listening!

Canadian Railroad Trilogy...what a great song! The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald...so heart-wrenching. Fond memories of a deceased friend and I singing this one at karaoke. We got a standing ovation (largely due to him. He really nailed that song) .

LeeAnn, I felt his spirit as I was writing this tribute poem. It was going to be much lengthier, but this short heartfelt tribute was my communion with him. THX so much for being the 1st to read and positively comment! That means a whole lot to me!
