Goodbye Cruel World! Poem by Tony Sandy

Goodbye Cruel World!

Rating: 5.0

I forget myself
I forget the past.
I know with sadness
That my life won't last.

I remember
These as the years
Full of loss,
Full of tears.

I see the future
And its grim intention
Of dragging me, screaming and crying
Into another dimension

I remember
These as the years
Empty of hope,
Filled with fears.

I shout my pain.
I shout my defiance
-I am losing my hold
On all of my reliance.

I remember
These as the years
Where no one listens
Where no one hears.

When I exit this world
It will be with all guns blazing!
I won't be pushed out
Because I for one am brazen.

I remember
These as the years
Full of whisky,
Full of beers.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem has a nice twist as it starts off defeatist, full of the sadness of life, then turns into a defiant in your face blast
