This is a good poem. It really poses an important question.
Good guys seem to miss out on lots of pleasure.
Bad guys miss out completely on peace of mind.
It is just a matter of choice.
Is true happiness related more to pleasure?
Or more to peace of mind that comes with integrity?
Many times, times of pleasure leave a bad taste in the aftermath.
Never does a good deed leave a bad taste.
I think all of us have experience with that.
When I was searching in my mind for an answer to the question in the last stanza, I thought about the essay of RW. Emerson, titled, COMPENSATION. It is a wonderful read, I highly recommend to anyone. (it is freely available on the internet)
