Good Friday Poem by Daniel Ukwe

Good Friday

On Good Friday, solemn and still,
We remember a sacrifice, so real.
The pain, the suffering, the tears shed,
As Christ hung upon the cross, bloodshed.

He bore our sins upon that day,
And with his death, he showed the way.
For in three days he rose again,
Conquering death, banishing pain.

The sky turned dark, the earth did quake,
As the veil in the temple did break.
The love of God was shown so clear,
As Christ endured such pain and fear.

So let us reflect on this holy day,
And in our hearts, let gratitude stay.
For the sacrifice that was made for us,
And the hope that in Christ we trust.
