The poor little girl,
In the fifth grade.
With her tattered clothes,
And her weary smile.
She thinks she hides the bruises,
When the most obvious ones are on her soul.
She doesn't think she's good enough.
Fast forward ten years,
To her Sophomore year.
With her outdated clothes
And her high GPA.
She thinks she'll never fit in,
But she's the only thing standing in the way.
She doesn't think she's good enough.
After two more years,
She hits the real world,
With her high school diploma,
And her work eithic.
She thinks she failed the interview,
But they want her to start today.
She doesn't think she's good enough.
Another five years go by,
And the girl meets the boy.
With a shy smile
And some small talk.
She doesn't think she'll ever impress him,
When he's already captivated.
She doesn't think she's good enough.
Three years later,
The girl becomes a wife,
With a shiny golden ring,
And a baby on the way.
She thinks she'll never be a good mother,
But a lifetime of insecurity did that to her.
She doesn't think she's good enough.
