Gone Poem by Kiki Marie

Gone

She's been hurt and broken,
by almost every man.
She gave her heart
way too fast.
Buit up now, is a wall,
that way she doesn't fall.
But it impedes her ability to trust,
nor does she ever open up.
She's sinking deeper inside her head,
where she gets lost, wishing she was dead.
Feeling lonely and displaced,
yet almost secure within her silence.
Torturing memories and incesant thoughts,
haunt her inner most being.
She'll try anything to alleviate her pain.
Losing sight of she was.
One shot, one sniff, one swallow at a time.

Really sad poem. I'm lost for words as I too have had sorrows- my mother abandoned me for 18 years and my father abused me. My first husband nearly killed me. I could go on and on... BUT I smile because in the midst of sorrow I found love- true love- the love that never fails- the love of Jesus Christ. And He taught me how to love me and even those who hurt me. Though I don't always understand His love, I trust Him. He knows better than I and in the end I want to obtain eternal love and rest in Him. Thanks for sharing your heart.
