Going My Way? Poem by Carol Fleming Klein

Going My Way?

Your eyes smile at me
across the space between us.
But what is behind your eyes?
Who are you there?

My hand tingles when you
reach out and caress it.
But who is the man that
lives and breathes
in the zone where that impulse
travelled from?

My heart skips a beat
when you say 'I miss you'
on the phone.
But what rules your heart?
Where does it lead you?
Where are you going?

Is it truly
my way?

This is about realness, and authenticity. Not about selfishness. Are you playing a game, or are you being real it asks? And do you know?
