God Save The World Poem by Elizabeth Ross

God Save The World

I like to look at the sky and ask why the world is the way it is.
Are we truly a gift, or a curse to bear?
I watch the news and see how pain has become the most common feeling.
Children now watch their homes explode,
When they should be in school, safe and learning.

Dear presidents, I stand before you holding a flower
That represents the lives of those who no longer walk beside me.
I hope that in your glamorous dinners and wild nights,
You can find the peace that so many no longer have.
