I took this poem to mean there are many ''takers'' in this world. The people who think the world is ''for them'', like they are owed something yet are not willing to work for anything. Very lovely poem Herbert. Sincerely, Mary
I agree Herbert, I hate seeing cut flowers although I worked with them for many years. I hate to see also children/adults pick flowers in parks and then throw them down on the ground to die. It's such vandalism, and so unappreciating of these wonderful blooms that we can enjoy through the year. Lovely poem with a great statement. Love Ernestine XXX
