Here you have raised some doubts that come bobbing in my mind too! Yes, everyone says God is one and He is Father to all human race and we are children of God! If so why there is so much of hatred and violence in the name of God....? The present scenario is really alarming and the most atrocious acts are committed to 'please' God...a God who preached and practised only love! A bitter paradox! A great write, sir!
A bitter paradox. Yes, it is. A God who is merciful and kind and full of love for all living beings, how can He ordain His children to go against His own word. The queries come out of deep anguish. Thanks a lot, Valsa ji, for being on this page and for sharing your views on the subject.
God is in our hearts, sometimes He appears as single beam and sometimes as a rainbow. Great poem.
Thanks, Akhtar Jawad sahab, for your kind and enlightened words about the revelations of the Supreme Being.
I wish I have the answer, but I think there is something called greed and power. At the end of the day; we as individuals live our lives in the way that our conscience guide us and attain happiness without hurting others. Thank you my friend.
Thanks for your kind visit, Dear Friend Loke. We all have our own explanations and rationale in addition to what scriptures have to offer. I am glad you do have a plausible analysis of the given predicament.
All human beings: God's children........ you say this, but I say, All human beings are God's creations / creatures, one thing more, God knows everything and being so is said God is everywhere but He does not live in any being and thing, He lives in a certain place from where He manages, sees and hears all....... Dear poet, these opinions are according to Islam You do not take it otherway, thanks
Thank you for reading the poem and for fairly elaborate comments on what has been mentioned therein.
Life is too complex to understand.....we have to accept that good and evil co-exist in this earth.......unless both are there, transformation would not have been possible.......a thought-provoking poem by you...thanks for sharing...
I agree with you. It's not so easy to explain. All kinds of philosophical theories are there. Thanks a lot, Kishore ji.
Your question makes us redefine what they call god.Vitue and vice two sides of a coin dear poet.God sees the truth but waits. We should have patience. Thanks for sharing a great poem.Happy new year.
I am totally in agreement with you. It is the way we look at certain things which affect our lives. Thanks for your kind words and a thoughtful review, Binaya ji.
You ask the questions of the ages. This is a tremendous work, Rajnish. A 10.
At times we all come across such questions in our lives and hope to get a plausible answer. Thanks for your appreciative comments, Dear Mj.
It is an important question. According to A. Whitehead, God manifests as the faculty of envisionment in human hearts. By envisioning ourselves as loving protectors of each other, we begin to fulfil God's purposes. Also we need to prevent our own inner drift toward cruel behavior, so we need to go back to love's source.
I am glad to have received such an enlightened response on my small piece of writing. It is always desired to have a positive frame of mind with love and kindness to counter all black forces. Thank you, Denis, and a Very Happy New Year to you.
God kills us in wars God gives us syphilis, cholera God gives us rapists, burglars, murderers God gives us hunger, disease, death God takes away all reality, all sanity And makes us wretched monsters after greed, money, women... (remain tuned if you want to hear more) And still, the demented, deluded man worships his God.
Thanks, Ravi ji, for looking at the subject from another angle and making value additions.
You highlight the the conflicts between various religions, who all worship the same God. It does not make sense, in Northern Ireland, or anywhere else.
What I have written is a very common observation. Instead of being a facilitator of unity, religion has given rise to fanaticism and bigotry which, in turn, has led to bitter conflicts and spilling of blood of innocents which no civilised society can afford to watch mutely. Michael, thanks for sharing your views on the subject.
