I have often heard the well-known opening lines of this hymn attributed to the author of the Book of Psalms. I am pleased to see it printed in its entirety on this site and credited to the rightful author. Thank you.
The author never quotes the bible here. He uses truths about God which can be biblically supported with the bible. However, the descriptions are his.
