God Clothed Himself With Flesh Poem by Gary James Smith

God Clothed Himself With Flesh

Rating: 5.0

GOD CLOTHED HIMSELF WITH FLESH

God clothed Himself with flesh
And humbled Himself as man
God with us O Immanuel
Who soon will come again
And joyful hearts are praising Him
That Lamb for sinners slain
Who took our sin and bore God's wrath
O glorify that name

That Hallelujah fountain
Which can satisfy our thirst
And place us before Him with repentant hearts
Acknowledging that He is the first
Loving God with our heart...our soul...our mind
And all of our strengths as well
Who brought us to a triumphant deliverance
Over sin and death and Hell

Come as a babe in a manger
Though a Prophet and a Priest and a King
Submitting Himself to the onslaughts of men
Obedient to His Father in everything
There was not one sin with attachment
For the Holy of Holiest was He
The world had to shut down in darkness
That blest Day at Calvary

Now the Light of the world Lord Jesus
Who quickens the hearts of men
Empowering by the presence of His Holy Spirit
When they become born again
And by that Spiritual ignition
Our hearts have passion anew
May a soul come today and know that blest One
Experiencing Christ... living in you!

Hallelujah, what a Saviour!
