God And Devil Debate No.5 Poem by PREMKUMAR C N

God And Devil Debate No.5

Rating: 5.0

God and Devil met again
At a construction site
Of a holy shrine
On top of a mountain

A sculptor was sculpting
A sculpture of the god
From a block of granite
With tools so sharp

'How can the sculptor
Carve your sculpture
From the granite block? '
Asked the devil to god.

The god smiled
And answered softly
'My figure was already
In that stone block

He just chiseled away
The superfluous part
I am omnipresent,
I am everywhere

In blocks of stone
Or logs of wood.
The sculptor can
Visualize me in them.

Anyone can curve out
A statue of me
Just by chisel away
The unwanted part'

Devil grinned and said,
'My dear twin brother,
I am also present
In those stone and wood

If the sculptor
Removes the rest
My statue can
Also, be created.

Just like me and you
The sculptor can create
A lion or a deer
Or an elephant

The sculptor can
Create anything
With his sharp tools
From his creative mind

His mind is limitless.
The human mind is similar
To those blocks of stone
Or logs of wood

If the unwanted part
Is chipped away
He can create
Any figure out of it.

Both of us are also
Creations of his mind
Hence our existence
Is limited there'

Devil laughed
And walked away
