'Giving Up' Poem by David Cleveland

'Giving Up'

Rating: 5.0

My heart is heavy, my spirit broken.
My life is passing, as I lay there choking.
As each breath shortens, I don't fight for air.
I know I'm dying, I just don't care.
So I took my last breath and started to drift.
That's when I realized, death is a gift.
