Give Us A War Chest Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

Give Us A War Chest

There she is, all clothed in froth
All alone n' yet still afloat
Dazed by her own ideas of beauty
Meanwhile, the world drifts by with no regard of her

All paintings, piercings n' nudity
Please give us a war chest to withstand this stupidity
For He's coming back soon while she's carousing
Please give us a war chest to whip her back to her senses.

There she is, all clothed in froth
As she dances her morals to the pit
All yes, music is good, but white washed worldly music, fools
Please give us a war chest to bring her back to her morals

There she is, all clothed in froth
Dazed by the glitters of death to realize her nakedness
Neglected all discipline n' Christ's instructions
Please give us a war chest to jolt her back to self-realization
