Give God A Ring Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Give God A Ring

God wants to talk to you and me
He says to use the phone
To dial, we need to bend the knee
And speak to Him alone

God’s phone is Jesus’ gift of prayer
A gift He died to give
That we may call from anywhere
And ask to way to live

No switchboard needs to put us through
Direct we all can call Jn.16: 26
When Jesus died for me and you. Lk.23: 45
God took away the wall Eph.2: 14

A line to God is always free
No matter when we ring
So try Him now and soon you’ll be
Connected to the King

There’s none too bad to ring the Lord
No one too young or old
No one can say they can’t afford
No one is placed on hold

No child of God receives a bill
It doesn’t cost a dime
Just talk until you’ve had your fill
No need to watch the time

The Lord calls oft His children too
Such times we can rejoice
Although His face is not in view
We hear His lovely voice

God’s gift is free to one and all
No need for you to fear
If when you hear the Master’s call
Just answer “Lord I’m here”
