Gifts Poem by Patricia Denise Newman

Gifts

Our gifts come in many forms which we gratefully receive
Some are parcels, gaily wrapped, their contents we can't perceive
Others are not so easily seen, but welcome just the same
these are the gifts we treasure most and known by another name

Friendship is a marvellous gift, given so freely to all
A true friend is always there for you whenever or wherever you call
Music is another gift in which one may be improved
whatever the situation, there is music to suit the mood

Appreciating all our many gifts in literature and art
would take us to another realm in which we share our heart
The greatest gift above all else is one that we can share
that is the wonderful gift of love - a gift beyond compare.
